O'Connor's papers consist of letters to him pertaining to Irish freedom, some from prominent individuals such as Michael Davitt, one of the founders of the Irish National Land League; Senator George Peabody Wetmore of Rhode Island; Frank Byrne, General Secretary of the National Land League of Britain; Eamonn De Valera, President of the Irish Republic; William Gladstone, Prime Minister of Great Britain; James Francis Xavier O'Brien, General Secretary of the United Irish League of Great Britain; Matthew Healy, office manager of the Republic of Ireland Loans Fund; and Patrick Ford, editor of the IRISH WORLD. In addition, documents specifically relating to O'Connor's public career on behalf of the Irish cause in Great Britain and the United States, including membership cards, bulletins, reports, invitations, and a certificate of power to organize granted by the United Irish League of America. Also news clippings, some written by O'Connor, concerning Ireland becoming an independent nation.
